Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of The School Gate during its private beta period. By creating an account, you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose.
Who operates this service
The School Gate is operated by Dora Papp-Sutcliffe. Questions or concerns: email hello@schoolgatehq.com.
What you can use it for
The School Gate is for personal use only — helping you keep track of communications from your child's school. You may not use it commercially, share your account, or use it to access inboxes you do not own and have the right to authorise.
What the service does
The School Gate reads emails from the specific school sender addresses you provide. It extracts structured information (events, tasks, dates, notices) and presents them to you. It does not send emails, modify your inbox, or access anything other than the sender addresses you have authorised.
Private beta
You are using a pre-release version of The School Gate. This means:
- The service is provided as-is. There are no uptime guarantees during beta.
- Features may change, and some things may not work perfectly yet.
- We may limit access at any time, with or without notice, during this period.
- Beta access is personal and non-transferable.
Your data
You own your data. You can disconnect your inbox and delete your account at any time from Settings › Account. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how your data is handled.
Our responsibility
The School Gate surfaces information from your school emails to help you stay organised. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on that information, and we cannot guarantee that every email, event, or date will be captured correctly. Always check important dates directly with your school.
To the extent permitted by UK law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us (currently: nothing, as the beta is free).
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
- Use the service in any way that could harm us or other users.
We may terminate access for serious or repeated breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will give reasonable notice of material changes by email. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
